Big Changes - Future Updates
I've been working through more bullcrap this year than I anticipated, but I want to get back on schedule. I know I've said that before, but honestly I think the biggest hurdle was figuring out what the schedule should look like. In the past, I basically planned to start working on a page on Sunday with that same page dropping on the following Friday. Honestly, it's not a reasonable schedule and it never was.
I am not a comic artist in the sense I was never taught a good way to plan these sort of things. I have 90% of the Mixten story written, but translating that to an image isn't easy. I think I figured since I could see it in my head, I could translate it easy.
Nope.
One of the biggest things I've had to learn over the last year is that I have no idea how to storyboard. Although a lot of the pages I posted previously look good, I want to push myself futher. I want to elevate all of this to be something that is professional, cool, and above all other things, something that others can enjoy and look back on and be like, "Yea... this meant something."
Because of that, I have been rewiring my own brain to that end. The discussions I've had with people during Art Streams has helped a ton and I really appreciate it. Sometimes it just takes talking it out and I'm glad you guys believe enough in these projects that you've weathered my ADHD with me.
To that end, I'm going to work toward more accountability. I completely deleted the Google Calendar that I admit I've been ignoring and made a new one. A more manageable one. Gone are the hardline dates there I had to get a lot done in a matter of days. Storyboarding, sketching, lineart, and color in a week was insane. I didn't see it then, but I see it now.
To that end, here's the new calendar. I will get this comic off the ground. I will and I won't accept failure as an option.
June 22 - 28: Storyboarding Mixten Genetics (to the end of Ch 1)
June 29 - July 5: Cleaning and Lineart (With Livestream on July 5th)
July 6 - 12: Colors and Scheduling Posts on Webtoon/Tapas
July 13 - 19: Outline Fourth Chimera/Prep to be hosted on Tapas with regular updates
July 26: Pre-Scheduled Mixten Genetics and Fourth Chimera updates start to drop to public
With this extended schedule it gives me a lot of time to spread out tasks and it also means that there's a week gap between when I should be done with everything on my end before the next content begins to trickle out. Gone are the days of me essentially trying to cram everything and making it fit. It also means that since everything should be already in Webtoon/Tapas with scheduled releases, as those pages slowly drop over multiple weeks I can be working on the following chapter. Instead of months of inactivity between updates, it may only be a couple weeks at most.
In addition to comic work, here’s the Twitch schedule for the next few weeks!
See ya there!
